New Project to Connect and Showcase UK Aerospace Research Facilities

Professor Mahdi Azarpeyvand from the University of Bristol is leading a new outreach project aimed at strengthening connections across the UK’s aerospace research community and improving visibility of experimental research facilities that are not currently part of the NWTF.
The project will involve visits to universities across the UK to explore their facilities, engage with aerospace academics, researchers and students and develop a broader understanding of the capabilities and expertise available throughout the sector.
The initiative will help foster new links between universities, industry, and the NWTF, while promoting opportunities available through the network, including the Access for Researchers programme, training workshops, and networking activities.
A key outcome of the project will be the creation of a graphical overview of the UK’s experimental aerospace research landscape for 2026/27. Promoting the existing facilities and research activities, providing a valuable resource that showcases facilities and capabilities across the country.
Universities and researchers interested in arranging a visit to their institution are encouraged to get in touch by emailing admin@nwtf.ac.uk
