RJ Mitchell

University of Southampton

The RJ Mitchell wind tunnel at the University of Southampton has a test section of 3.6 m x 2.5 m x 10.5 m and a max speed of 40 m/s. It has a 6-component overhead balance with various mounting options, underfloor 2- component balance and two point motorised strut for vehicle work. It has a rolling road with boundary layer suction. It is equipped with the latest HWA, stereo time resolved PIV and LDV systems.
