Tunnel Managers Forum

Hosts: Paul White, Airbus, Ian Smith, QinetiQ and Chetan Jagadeesh, City University.

Aims:
• Build networked community of industry and academic wind tunnel managers.
• Host twice yearly visits to industry and academic wind tunnel facilities across the UK.
• Support Q&A sessions to solve wind tunnel problems.
• Develop closer links to the SATA & STAI meetings & international wind tunnel community.

Location: The first meeting will take place on the 15th of November at Airbus, Pegasus House, Aerospace Ave, Filton, Bristol BS34 7PA. Future meetings will be held at City, University of London in January ‘24 and QinetiQ later in ’24.

Agenda:
10.30 Tea and coffee (including welcome and aims for Tunnel Managers forum)
10.45 Short introductions to each facility, including introduction to representatives present (5 mins per facility)
12.00 Tour of the Airbus wind tunnel, including descriptions of test capabilities, projects, test set-up
12.45 Lunch
14.00 Q&A session on wind tunnel operation, challenges or any other topics of participant interest
14.55 Final remarks and plan for next meeting
15.00 Meeting finish
