Professor of Experimental Aerodynamics (Autonomous Systems & Connectivity). He has performed testing in water tanks and wind tunnels in the UK and internationally, to study the fluid mechanics of unsteady, separated flows relevant to wind and tidal turbines, rotorcraft and propeller propulsion. As part of NWTF, he led the refurbishment of the deHavilland wind tunnel now used for EU and EPSRC funded projects.
